Three students receive scholarships from Falls Cities Purdue Alumni Club

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The Falls Cities Purdue Alumni Club of Southern Indiana and Greater Louisville, Ky., has awarded $500 scholarships to three incoming freshmen who will attend Purdue University's College of Technology at New Albany in the fall.

The three recipients are Matthew Lilly, a graduate of Providence High School in Clarksville, Ind.; Joseph Perkinson, a graduate of Trimble County High School in Bedford, Ky.; and Seth Woods, a graduate of Trinity High School in St. Matthews, Ky.

Lilly and Woods plan to pursue degrees in mechanical engineering technology, and Perkinson plans to pursue a degree in computer graphics technology.

The scholarships were earmarked for students who attended the inaugural "Day in College" program for high school juniors and seniors on March 16 held at the College of Technology at New Albany. The program gives high school students a chance to see the types of courses and degrees that Purdue offers in New Albany. Students and their parents experienced a customized course in each of the College of Technology's five degrees offered in New Albany.

In addition to attendance at the Day in College event and an intention to attend the college's New Albany location, selection was based on grade-point average with the top three receiving the awards.

The Falls Cities Purdue Alumni Club will award three scholarships annually.

The Purdue College of Technology at New Albany offers degrees in computer graphics technology, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology and organizational leadership and supervision.
