Police seek man who snapped photo in women's locker room
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue police are working with witnesses to create a composite sketch of a man who took photos in the women's locker room at the university's Recreational Sports Center Saturday (June 16) afternoon.A woman in the locker room reportedly saw the man about 12:30 p.m., and thinking he had entered by mistake, motioned to him that he was in the wrong area. When she came back from swimming, she saw the man open a shower curtain and take a photograph of a bather with a small digital camera. The swimmer told police she chased him but lost sight when he ran into the men's locker room about 1:15 p.m.
She told police the man appeared to be about age 25, was 5 feet 11, inches tall and had medium length brown hair. He was wearing a light blue shirt and khaki pants. Further investigation indicated the man likely was in the Boilermaker Aquatic Center portion of the Recreational Sports Center about 11:30 a.m. The aquatic center was open to the general public at that time for a swim meet.
Sports center staff has increased surveillance of the women's locker rooms. Detective Sgt. Matt Wietbrook asks anyone with information to call Purdue police at (765) 494-8221.
