Purdue staff development programs recognize graduates

Home away from home

It's not unusual for college students to feel homesick. But for Melinda Crow, the pain of separation from her native San Carlos Apache community in New Mexico was so severe it nearly cost her a dream handed down by her parents — the chance to earn a graduate degree in the plant sciences. The spring issue of Agricultures magazine shows how the Sloan Foundation Indigenous Graduate Partnership program at Purdue provided the support Crow needed to achieve her goals.
