Purdue to keep current leave program in place for additional year, recommend enhancements to bereavement, parental leave now

Purdue announced Monday (March 9) that its current leaves program will remain in place for the 2015-16 fiscal year, which runs through June 30, 2016, in order to provide time to further assess the program and its effect on faculty and staff.

When Bonnie Colon became a widow with two young children, she decided she wanted a career in which she could help other children learn to cope with stressful and traumatic experiences in their lives. Colon is a clinical associate professor for counseling and development graduate studies in education at Purdue Calumet.
