Research and Scholarship Distinguished Lecture scheduled for today

Marianne Boruch, English professor and award-winning poet, will present the Research and Scholarship Distinguished Lecture at 1:30 p.m. today (Nov. 19) as part of her selection as winner of the 2014 Purdue University Research and Scholarship Distinction Award, Purdue's most prestigious research honor outside the natural sciences.

McCoy Distinguished Lecture set for today

Jay Melosh, Distinguished Professor of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, will present the annual McCoy Distinguished Lecture at 3:30 p.m. today (Nov. 19) as part of his selection as winner of the 2014 Herbert Newby McCoy Award, Purdue's most prestigious research honor in the natural sciences.

Community engagement featured in Teaching Academy video series

Did You Know?: The Old Pump

The antique pump that sits southeast of Stone Hall commemorates a tradition of friendship and romance — and recalls a custom of youthful pranks — stretching back to the University's earliest days. The Old Pump, as it's referred to on its accompanying plaque and in University historical records, actually predates Purdue itself.
