An expedited search will begin immediately to find a replacement for Robert McMains, Purdue's vice president for physical facilities, who announced that he has accepted a position at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
The Health Care Strategy Committee is looking for faculty and staff ideas to help curb rising Purdue medical plan costs.
Purdue Today summer schedule
Purdue Today will reduce its publishing schedule May 6 through Aug. 9. Regular publishing days during the summer will be Monday and Thursday. Daily publication will resume Aug. 12.
General news
Last year, farmers didn't have nearly enough rain for their wilted, drought-ravaged crops. So far this year, they have too much of it -- so much that they can't get into their fields to work them for planting.
Purdue will award 10 honorary doctoral degrees during commencement ceremonies this spring -- nine May 10-12 on the West Lafayette campus and one May 12 during the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis ceremony in Indianapolis.
