Robin Ridgway works quietly and diligently behind the scenes to help keep Purdue compliant with a battery of federal and state environmental regulations. The University's director of environmental health and safety regulatory compliance, Ridgway also keeps a close eye on impending regulatory legislation at the state and federal levels -- and she provides input to lawmakers, when necessary, to make sure Purdue's voice is heard during the lawmaking process. Purdue Today summer schedule
Purdue Today will reduce its publishing schedule May 6 through Aug. 9. Regular publishing days during the summer will be Monday and Thursday. Daily publication will resume Aug. 12.

Tomatoes grown around LED lights in the winter can significantly reduce greenhouse energy costs without sacrificing yield, according to a Purdue study.
Researchers have found a way to see synthetic nanostructures and molecules using a new type of super-resolution optical microscopy that does not require fluorescent dyes, representing a practical tool for biomedical and nanotechnology research.

Purdue has been named a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for the fourth year in a row. Tree Campus USA is a national program created in 2008 to honor colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.
Patrick Dougherty's temporary sculpture installation, "Sidewinder," will be taken down on Wednesday (May 1), weather permitting.
Purdue sports
The ninth-ranked Purdue women's golf team is the No. 4 seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Championships to be held May 9-11 at the Stanford Golf Course at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., the NCAA announced Monday (April 29).
The Big Ten Conference and ABC/ESPN have announced that the Sept. 14 Purdue football game against Notre Dame in Ross-Ade Stadium will start at 8 p.m. ET -- the eighth night game in Ross-Ade history.
Purdue women's soccer's annual summer youth camp, open to girls ages 10-18, is set for July 5-7.
