Purdue's Online Writing Lab will be included in a Pearson mobile writing resource designed for smart phones and tablets through an agreement between Purdue Research Foundation and Pearson. The agreement allows the Purdue OWL to be included in Pearson Writer, a complete resource of curated and searchable information and guidance that includes writing, research, and content and project management tools.

President's Forum to focus on affordability
The Purdue community is invited to join President Mitch Daniels for a President's Forum on March 28 in the South Ballroom, Purdue Memorial Union. The forum is scheduled for 8-9:30 a.m. and will focus on student affordability.
This is the third in a series introducing staff who work at Purdue's new Center for Healthy Living. Beth Ann Taylor, the second nurse practitioner at the center, is featured today.
Murphy Awards
Three faculty named Murphy Award winners
Eric Barker, associate dean for research and professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology; George Hollich, associate professor of psychological sciences; and Fred Mannering, the Charles Pankow Professor of Civil Engineering, have been named recipients of the 2013 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Awards in Memory of Charles B. Murphy. The faculty members were surprised with the news during classes on Tuesday (March 19).
Purdue will continue to announce Murphy Award winners throughout the week. The University's highest undergraduate teaching honor, the Murphy Award is accompanied by a $10,000 cash award and induction into Purdue's Teaching Academy, which provides leadership for the improvement of undergraduate, graduate and outreach teaching. Murphy was a history professor at Purdue between 1927 and 1970.
Research news
Young adults in abusive and controlling dating relationships were happier when their relationships were over than they expected to be, according to a Purdue study.
Those concerned about the spread of Asian carp in Midwest rivers had some comfort in the expectation that varieties of these invasive fish could only invade a restricted range of river conditions -- until now.

On Thursday (March 14), Purdue received an $81,000 rebate check from Energizing Indiana and Duke Energy for recently realized energy efficiencies.
A blood drive sponsored by the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering will take place on Tuesday (March 26).
Older Americans who eat out are most concerned with cleanliness and service, a Purdue survey found.
Purdue sports
The Purdue wrestling team will compete in the 2013 NCAA Championships on Thursday through Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. The Boilermakers qualified five individuals for the tournament, marking the fifth straight year head coach Scott Hinkel has advanced at least half his starting lineup for the national championships.
