In the Spotlight
The public's increasing desire to know where their food comes from, how it is produced and whether it is safe certainly has grabbed Purdue Agriculture's attention. Faculty are involved in a variety of research and other work to help society improve the human diet, balancing efficient and sustainable production of high-quality animal products with proper treatment of animals. Research news
Researchers have shown theoretically how to control or eliminate the formation of 'dendrites' that cause lithium-ion batteries to fail, an advance that if realized would improve safety and might enable the batteries to be charged within a matter of minutes instead of hours.

The 50th anniversary year of the Department of Computer Science will finish with two special events -- a talk by Barbara Liskov of MIT and a daylong celebration with speakers and a dinner.
The Office of Marketing and Media is hosting a series of branding workshops this spring to help departments integrate the Purdue brand into their online, print and social media outlets.
As artists, Purdue professors Shannon McMullen and Fabian Winkler aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Neither are their students. Both spent hours digging holes for their upcoming public art installation beginning the week of March 18 outside Purdue's Elliott Hall of Music.
