Ebony Barrett-Kennedy, a clerk in Energy and Engineering Services and the former chair of the Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee, has worked to bridge communication gaps between staff and administrative groups, and is fostering an effort for employee recognition in the Purdue community.

The Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee (CSSAC) will begin accepting applications for employee and dependent grants on Friday (Feb. 1).
Faculty and staff are invited to nominate a graduating senior for the Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year award.

"The Idea of the University: Past, Present, and Future," a weekly series of lectures by professors and alumni exploring facets of academia and university life, will open this evening (Jan. 29) with a look at engagement.
A week of rain and unseasonable warmth in January replenished the ground with enough water to eliminate dry conditions across Indiana except for the far northern part of the state, reports the State Climate Office, based at Purdue.

BTN's new series "BTN LiveBIG" continues Wednesday (Jan. 30) with a second showing of stories highlighting how Purdue people are developing electric vehicles to conserve resources, building basic utility vehicles for use in developing countries and by partnering with organizations that help give at-risk teens a better life.
