Part of the student discovery process is experiential learning, and experience can be a great teacher. Just ask Brittany Nikolich, a recent graduate who hopes to become a registered dietitian. Nikolich worked with clients involved in a hypertension program at Purdue's Ismail Center. The clients are now on the road to better health.
The project, spearheaded by Lane Yahiro, Ismail's director and clinical associate professor of health and kinesiology, brings together students from his department, nursing, nutrition science and pharmacy with supervising professors.

Effective February 1, 2013, Steve Schultz will join Purdue in the position of legal counsel. In
this role, Steve will manage the legal function and oversee the delivery of legal services to the
University, as well as perform such professional services as may be requested by the President
and the Board of Trustees.
Payroll Services mailed, via the U.S. Postal Service, the 2012 W-2 wage and tax statements to University employees on Jan. 23. An instruction guide on how to read W-2 forms will be released before the end of the month.
As instructors continue to familiarize themselves with Blackboard Learn, ITaP technologists are offering tips and resources to help manage courses, including using Student View and creating a non-academic course.
The United States Postal Service has introduced new rates, which went into effect Sunday (Jan. 27).
The College of Science will host a screening of the documentary "Black Purdue" at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 29) in Lawson Computer Science Building, Room 1142. A facilitated discussion will follow.
Also, the College of Technology continues its interactive display in the lobby of Knoy Hall of Technology, featuring a picture of Dr. Martin Luther King.
