Jane Yatcilla always wanted a career working with technology and people -- and she found just that at Purdue Libraries. Yatcilla is a life and health sciences information specialist and an associate professor of library science, and her job involves elements of elegant simplicity and others of intense complexity.
Faculty and staff news
The final President's Forum of the calendar year will take place 8-9:30 a.m. Dec. 4 in Stewart Center, Rooms 302/306. The forum will open with a brief campus update by acting President Tim Sands, followed by a presentation/discussion titled "Purdue: Four Campuses, One University."
In preparation for the distribution of 2012 W-2 forms to Purdue employees, the University Tax Department urges employees to review their home addresses in Employee Self-Service (ESS) by Dec. 31.
General news
Purdue will award degrees at its West Lafayette campus on Dec. 16 and at its Calumet campus on Dec. 18.
Purdue Convocations is offering a holiday sale through Dec. 7 on most 2012-13 performances.
Although shopping online might contribute to air pollution due to increased trucking, perfecting hybrid trucks could help control emissions and cut fuel consumption in half.
