Procurement Services has signed a power of attorney with Transgroup Worldwide Logistics, authorizing Transgroup to provide customs entry and freight forwarding services for goods imported into the United States for Purdue.

Researchers may have discovered a new method to predict solar flares more than a day before they occur, providing advance warning to help protect satellites, power grids and astronauts from potentially dangerous radiation.

Acting President Timothy D. Sands and Indiana Gov. and Purdue President-elect Mitchell E. Daniels Jr. sing "Hail Purdue" with new Purdue students during the Boiler Up Rally on Monday (Aug. 13) at Mackey Arena. The rally, part of the Boiler Gold Rush orientation program, introduced new students to Purdue traditions and the fan experience.
Sands also encouraged students to support Purdue athletics by participating in the University's campus and community spirit campaign, which encourages people to raise their Purdue flags through Sept. 1 and then each home football game weekend. Purdue Musical Organizations will continue this year to present "Embrace the Sound," an arts series featuring five performances that are free and open to the public.
The National AgrAbility Project and the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue will present a webinar to help Extension staff and other professionals meet the needs of military veterans in agriculture.
