Student organizations taking holistic approach to sustainability

Campus student organizations are promoting sustainability throughout the academic year not only by focusing on environmental sustainability, through minimization of resources and encouraging responsible stewardship, but also by drawing attention to the less traditionally recognized aspects of social and economic sustainability. * Sustainable World Expo will host booths for green-focused businesses, clubs and organizations, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Stadium Mall.

* Safe disposal of unwanted medicine drop-off will be available at the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant booth, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Stadium Mall.

Football Weekend

Game Starter: David Wilson, trademark licensing

Before the team takes the field and the referee calls for kickoff, Purdue staff members play their part in making football games successful. Each Friday before a home game, as Ross-Ade Stadium waits to come alive with cheering Boilermakers, a staff member who is integral to game day will be featured in Purdue Today's Game Starters series. This week's Game Starter is David Wilson, director of trademark licensing in the University's Office of Marketing and Media. Read more...


* The Boiler Bridge Walk will start at 5:40 p.m. today (Sept. 30) at the fountain on the West Lafayette side of the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge. Read more...

* The Purdue football team takes on Notre Dame at 8 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 1). Ticket information is at www.purduesports.com.

* Before the game, Purdue Bands & Orchestras will present a Jazz Tailgate at 5 p.m. and the marching band's "Thrill on the Hill" at 6 p.m. at Slayter Center.

* Two extra tailgate options available -- student-sponsored 12th Boiler and "ESPN Jeep Ultimate Tailgate Experience." Read more...

Purdue gets $3.8 million to study, educate on bioenergy crops
