Green Week, Energy, ETS phone solar-powered

Solar-powered emergency light
on call box providing sustainable safety

The new blue light shining brightly atop an Emergency Telephone System (ETS) call box in the Waldron Street area of campus is now run by the sun. Votes can support Purdue's Solar Decathlon house

Online voting is open for the People's Choice Award in the U.S. Department of Energy's collegiate Solar Decathlon 2011, in which Purdue's house is among the 19 competitors. As of 7:30 a.m. today (Sept. 26), Purdue stood second in a tight race. To vote, go online and click the Vote button toward the right. On the next screen, scroll to "INhome (Purdue University)" and select it, then submit vote. Voting ends at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 30). One vote per email address. The website is here.

Purdue is announcing the formation of a search committee to identify the next chancellor of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, succeeding Michael Wartell as chancellor effective July 1, 2012.
