Difference makers: Energy
Energy alternatives. Batteries made strong from electrical charges. Biofuels derived from yeast. Heating systems smart enough to adjust to human occupants. These are the tools of the future in a world of shrinking reserves. These are the tools that are artfully crafted in labs and workrooms across campus by scientists, engineers, agricultural economists, and technologists such as Maureen McCann, who directs Purdue's Energy Center and the Center for Direct Catalytic Conversion of Biomass to Biofuels. Learn what inspires McCann and other researchers on the Difference Makers website at www.purdue.edu/differencemakers/energy.html.
