Purdue professor presented with Nobel Prize in chemistry
Purdue's Ei-ichi Negishi on Friday (Dec. 10) was presented with the Nobel Prize in chemistry for developing chemical reactions that allow for easy and efficient synthesis of complex organic compounds that are used in everything from pharmaceuticals to electronics.

Volleyball team edged in Elite Eight after blasting No. 1 in Sweet 16
The Boilermaker volleyball team exhibited great heart and character
in the midst of adversity Saturday night, falling to No. 6 Texas 3-1
after senior setter Jaclyn Hart succumbed to injury in the opening
stanza. The Elite Eight contest at Texas followed Purdue's 3-0 upset
of No. 1 Florida on Friday night. It was Purdue's first appearance in
