Black LGBTQ Performance Studies Digital Project Margo Katherine Wilke Undergraduate Research Internship Program Summer 2023 Accepted Film, Theater and Literary Studies; Gender Studies This student researcher will sort and digitize preliminary archival data collected on the life of 20th-century filmmaker, playwright, and actor Bill Gunn using open-access timeline software. Archival materials have been collected but needs to be sorted in order to build a detailed digital timeline to support further archival trips to study Gunn's life. Marlo Denice David The digital timeline developed in this project will directly support continued research on Gunn's life and support a forthcoming biography of this exciting, but understudied life of a Black queer icon. All majors welcome. An interest in theater, film, literature, and performance is a plus. Training provided. Flexible work times. Student will need to meet with faculty mentor on a biweekly basis to discuss project progress. Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated, responsible, and attentive to detail.
