Autonomous Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles DUIRI - Discovery Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Research Internship Summer 2023 Accepted computer engineering, aviation technology, human-machine interface This project will investigate the design and implementation of autonomous uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV). The project will study how UAVs may behave in three different environments: a simulator, an indoor UAV lab, and outdoor experiments. This project will be co-advised by faculty from Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aviation Technology, and Aeronautics and Astronautics. Yung-hsiang Lu Yung-hsiang Lu For summer 2023, the project includes (1) construct a mini city (about 10 meters x 10 meters) inside Purdue UAS Research and Test Facility (PURT, https://engineering.purdue.edu/PURT) and (2) create software to control the autonomous UAV to navigate inside this city. https://ri4rover.org/ required: at least one programming course. desired: knowledge about machine learning and computer vision 3 20 (estimated)
