BSL Peer-Supported Learning Strategies Project John Martinson Honors College Academic Year 2024 Accepted Education, Learning, Mixed Methods, Longitudinal The Learning Advocates Program is a Blue Sky Lab initiative to provide JMHC students peer supported learning support. The aim is to demystify academic failure and setbacks among Honors students, especially those who are used to being high academic performers. Learning Advocates learn about college learning then host timely workshops for Honors students. This scholarship of learning project both recruits Honors students to serve as Learning Advocates and engages Learning Advocates in designing a research project that evaluates workshop impacts. In the future, Learning Advocates may also offer consultations where they meet with Honors students and/or Honors organizations to provide guidance on how to overcome academic setbacks. Dr. Adeoye Olenloa is currently recruiting Honors students interested in learning about learning and gaining longitudinal, mixed (qualitative and quantitative) research skills applied to program evaluation.
