Daniels, Jr. School of Business Academic Year 2024 Accepted Organizational Behavior or Psychology Why do some individual, teams, or organizations keep going in the face of failure or setback? Are there key drivers that are common and can predict such resilience? This project identifies factors that explain when, why, and how individuals, teams, and organizations are able to overcome adversity, pick themselves up, keep going, and ultimately succeed. This project will provide necessary research to build a model and set of predictions based on the science of motivation (resilience), achievement, and performance. Bradley J Alge Bradley J Alge Student with faculty advisor to identify factors that drive resilience. Student will conduct literature reviews of the scientific literature examining areas such as commitment, consideration, trust, goal focus and attention to what matters, mental toughness and other potential factors. Student will learn to use library search tools including PsychInfo, ABI-Inform, BusinessSourceElite, and JSTOR to identify key studies and theories that help understand and explain resilience. They will document the studies and their findings in a spreadsheet. Student will meet periodically with professor to discuss status and answer questions. Students should have a GPA of 3.4 or higher. Conscientious, strong organizational skills. Ability to document findings using Excel or database tool.
