3-D reconstruction of diseased arteries from CTA imaging data Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Research Program Summer 2025 Closed Translational medical research This project is part of the medical study titled "3D Arterial Construction of Ultrasound Cine Loops for Morphological Abnormalities of Vascular Disease" (IRB# 18139). The study has recruited six subjects, each with both CTA and Ultrasound Cine Loop (UCP) imaging data. This project focuses on reconstructing 3D arterial geometries from CTA imaging using in-house MATLAB code. The resulting reconstructions will be a reference for validating 3D reconstructions derived from UCP imaging data. Huidan Yu 1. Study image segmentation methodologies using the provided references.
2. Adapt the in-house MATLAB code for the carotid arterial system, ensuring detailed documentation.
3. Process all six cases to generate geometric outputs and conduct analysis.
4. Create visualizations of the geometries in video, GIF, or STL format.
https://engineering.purdue.edu/YuLab/ 1. No minimum GPA or previous research experience is required. 2. Proficiency in MATLAB 1 4 (estimated)
