Algorithims and Computations for Mulitphase Flow Diagnostics Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Research Program Summer 2025 Closed thermodynamics, fluid mechanics Join a research group focused on multiphase flows. The team’s work acquires advanced experimental data combined with development of novel data processing methodologies. This opportunity will allow you to get involved either in person or remote and contribute to development of new data processing methods. Data of interest includes holographic images of reacting environments, high-speed videos of dense particle fields, and other advanced experimental data. Daniel Robert Guildenbecher Daniel Robert Guildenbecher Your role will be to collaborate with graduate students who are developing novel data processing methodologies. The graduate student will serve as your primary mentor. Your tasks will be determined based on overlapping interests, skills, and project needs. Tasks could include development of Python image processing routines, novel particle tracking algorithms, and/or integration of graphical user interfaces. Other design or analysis activities may make use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques. You will collaborate closely with experiments, help to analyze cutting edge datasets, and become well-versed in advanced diagnostics. https://engineering.purdue.edu/GuildenbecherLab GPA > 3.5 with a strong interest in graduate school 0 10 (estimated)
