Teri Lucie Thompson, Purdue's vice president for marketing and media, has won a 2010 Stevie Award as Marketing Executive of the Year.

Thompson serves as the University's chief marketing officer. She oversees the communication of news and information about the University to internal and external audiences in print, video, photo, and a variety of Internet platforms. She also supervises marketing research, branding and advertising, Purdue public radio station WBAA, the Purdue website, and the development of community partnerships. Since coming to Purdue in 2008, Thompson has centralized the University's marketing department; led a re-design of the University’s website, adoption of social media and improved search engine optimization; and brought national attention to student success stories as well as research breakthroughs. Thompson also is leading efforts to develop a brand strategy approach for the University, the first-ever in Purdue’s history.
