Our Team

Carolyn McCormick

Dr. McCormick joined the Human Development and Family Studies Department in the fall of 2017 as part of the Purdue Autism Cluster. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Quantitative Psychology. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.

Graduate Students

Mehreen Zehra Hassan

Mehreen is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. Her primary research interests include the dissemination of evidence-based interventions to diverse and marginalized populations. She is particularly interested in the cultural adaptations of interventions to meet the needs of families and assess their impact on child outcomes and parental well-being. In her free time, she likes to travel, paint, and spend time with her two cats, Nino and Athena.

Claire Rosenberger

Claire is a graduate student at Purdue in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. Her primary research goal is to understand the role of early intervention and family members on the developmental outcomes for children, especially those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Claire is working on the Your View and Families Tackling Tough Times Together studies.

Undergraduate Lab Members

Julia Suter

Julia joined freshman year as an undergraduate researcher to our lab for 2.5 years. She majored in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. She minored in German, and Human Development and Family Studies and was a member of the Honors College. The projects she was involved in were the PIIN Biosensor Review and the Your View Study. Julia presented a poster with Anna Strong titled “Systematic Review of Popularity, Reliability, and Validity of Wearable Sensors for Autistic Participants” at Purdue’s Undergraduate Research Conference in April 2022. Recently she presented another poster with Anna Strong titled “Does the type of device or method of attachment impact data loss with wearable biosensors for people on the autism spectrum?” at the Purdue Fall Undergraduate Research Expo in November 2022. In the fall of 2023, she hopes to apply for graduate programs and hopes to attend Purdue University’s SLP masters program!

Anna Mae Strong

Anna is a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science with minors in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. She joined the lab in the fall of 2021. In the lab, she is involved with the PIIN Biosensors Review and Your View. Her goal is to get a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Chloe Cloutier

Chloe is a senior studying Biomedical Health Sciences/Pre-Medicine with a minor in Psychology and a Medical Humanities Certificate. She joined the lab in Fall of 2021. Chloe has been involved with the PIIN Biosensors Review, Biosensors Focus Group study, and the Families Tackling Tough Times project. After completing her undergraduate degree, her dream is to attend medical school to become a pediatrician in the future. Outside of academic work, Chloe is involved with the Purdue Golden Silks Color Guard. She also works as a medical scribe at IU Arnett Hospital and has worked as a teaching intern for multiple biology lab courses at Purdue.

Mili Patel

Mili is a junior majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. She joined the lab in the summer of 2021. In the lab, she is involved in PIIN Biosensors FG coding. She plans on going to medical school in the future and is interested in pediatrics.  

Lillian Millspaugh

Lilly is a junior majoring in Psychological Sciences with minors in Philosophy and Human Development & Family Science. She joined the lab in Fall of 2021. Lilly is involved in the 4-H Inclusion project and the Families Tackling Tough Times collaboration with the Biobehavioral Lab. She plans on going to graduate school for a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology and aims to work in both clinical and research settings. 

Emma Davis

Emma is a junior majoring Web Programming and Design with minors in Spanish and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She joined the lab this semester and is working on the Your View project, both data entry and video coding. For post-grad, she plans to work in technological consulting and get her masters in a related field.
