Purdue is on the move and in the news, exemplifying national leadership in providing higher education at the highest proven value. As of May 15, 2017, Ever True: The Campaign for Purdue University stands at $1.47 billion raised by 169,042 donors. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of alumni and friends like you, we’ve reached more than 72 percent of our goal to raise $2.019 billion by 2019, the 150th anniversary year of Purdue’s founding and the 50th anniversary year of alumnus Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon.
This edition of the Ever True e-newsletter recaps the phenomenal success and excitement surrounding Purdue Day of Giving. We’ve also introduced the Ever True: Campus Campaign, which invites faculty, staff, students, and retirees to support the university through private giving.
Thanks in part to these fundraising initiatives, Purdue has been able to hold tuition at 2012 levels through the 2018–19 academic year while continuing to invest in teaching and research excellence, and in programs that enhance the academic experience. A case in point: the one-of-a-kind Wilmeth Active Learning Center. The center opens Aug. 7 and will be a daily academic destination for approximately 5,000 students and faculty. Click here for more information.
The fall semester will welcome the largest, most diverse incoming class in years.
Also on the horizon: the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Building renovation and addition at West Lafayette. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Purdue ABE #1 in undergraduate schools for six consecutive years (2012–2017), and the graduate program is tied for 2nd this year. The new state budget included $69 million in bonding authority toward the projected $80 million cost to create ABE’s new home. Click here to find out more about the project and how to get involved.
Your support for the campaign is vital and invaluable to all the Purdue Moves initiatives—affordability and accessibility, STEM leadership, world-changing research, and transformative education.
