Purdue Plant Doctor

Drs. Janna Beckerman and Cliff Sadof are two extension specialists at Purdue University that specialize in the pest management of landscape trees and ornamentals. Drs. Beckerman and Sadof approached the BoilerApps team to initially develop the Purdue Tree Doctor app. The Purdue Tree Doctor is a smart phone app that will help users diagnose and find recommendations to manage over 175 tree problems on over 60 kinds of trees common to the Midwest and Northeast United States. After the initial release of Purdue Tree Doctor, the BoilerApps team worked with Drs. Janna Beckerman and Cliff Sadof on publishing a total of four Purdue Plant Doctors (Purdue Tree Doctor, Purdue Perennial Doctor, Purdue Annual Doctor, and Purdue Tomato Doctor) that are available for both iOS and Android devices. Tipping Points Planner

The BoilerApps team worked with the Tipping Points Planner team in Fall 2016 on designing and implementing a new homepage on their website. The BoilerApps team also made other enhancements to the site that included creating an SSL certificate, upgrading the CMS software version, and adding the ability to archive older projects. MAPPING SERVICES

Professor Darrell Schulze in the Department of Agronomy developed a prototype iPad App for teaching Soil Science incorporating several different layers of soil maps. BoilerApps worked with Professor Schulze to publish the initial version of the app in the Apple App Store and to implement multiple enhancements including pop-up interrogation of soil layers, custom configuration files and online configuration files that can be updated directly by Professor Schulze. The BoilerApps team is also working with Professor Schulze on a new website that uses ArcGIS services to replace the existing site that uses Google Earth.
