Trustees OK new unit for system-wide online education

The Purdue University Board of Trustees voted today (Dec. 7) to establish Purdue Online, a new organizational unit that will systematically develop a coordinated, unified system-wide portfolio of online course and degree offerings for students of all types.

Purdue room and board rates to remain flat at WL, PNW, PFW campuses

Purdue students on all three of the University’s physical campuses will see no increase in room and board rates for the 2019-20 academic year. This will be the seventh consecutive year students on the West Lafayette campus will not see an increase in rates.

Trustees approve posthumous degrees and academic name changes, ratify distinguished faculty

The Board of Trustees today (Dec. 7) awarded two posthumous degrees and ratified two distinguished faculty positions, in addition to approving the renaming of an academic unit on the West Lafayette campus and an undergraduate program on the Fort Wayne campus. Trustees also issued resolutions of appreciation for a key leader of the creation of Purdue Global and friends of the University, including two whose names will be added to campus facilities.

Board approves commencement of Union Club Hotel renovation planning, real estate transactions

The Board of Trustees today (Dec. 7) granted approval to accept gifts from Purdue alumnus and former trustee Bruce White and his wife, Beth, along with the Dean and Barbara White Foundation, which will fund a transformative renovation of the Union Club Hotel, and empowered a team to begin the preliminary project planning. The board also approved the sale of land in the Purdue Aerospace Technology Park on the West Lafayette campus and the acquisition of real estate adjacent to the Purdue Fort Wayne campus.
