Purdue alum and World Food Prize laureate to speak at Presidential Lecture Series

The most recent World Food Prize laureate will join President Mitch Daniels on Oct. 23 as part of the fall 2017 Presidential Lecture Series. Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, a Purdue alumnus and president of the African Development Bank Group, will speak with Daniels at 6:30 p.m. in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse.

Dawn or Doom '17 kicks off today

Dawn or Doom '17, a free conference examining risks and rewards of emerging technologies, takes place Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept. 26-27) with presentations from leading national authorities and Purdue researchers.

The conference highlights aspects of designing the world we live in, including bioengineering and human design, "smart" cities and autonomous vehicles, plant engineering and gene editing, "fake news" and virtual reality, and artificial intelligence and robotics.
