Purdue Profiles: Karen HudmonInspired by the loss of her mother to lung cancer, Karen Hudmon, professor of pharmacy practice, has helped change the way tobacco cessation counseling is taught. A program she helped develop, Rx for Change: Clinician-Assisted Tobacco Cessation, is the only broadly shared curriculum among health professional schools, in use nationwide and in 79 countries. The program teaches clinicians and health professional students of all disciplines how to assist patients with quitting smoking.
