'Data diary' task in statistics class gets students looking at big data and how their data is collected, usedStatistics continuing lecturer Ellen Gundlach wanted students to understand the value of their personal data, so she developed a "data diary" assignment in which they document how their personal information is collected over a 24-hour period. Gundlach reached out to staff from ITaP and Purdue Libraries to brainstorm ideas, and she encourages other instructors to contact ITaP Teaching & Learning technologists if they have thoughts about how technology might improve a course.
