In the Spotlight
Before the team takes the field and the referee calls for kickoff, Purdue staff members play their part in making football games successful. Each Friday before a home game, a staff member who is integral to game day will be featured in Purdue Today's Game Starters series. This week's Game Starter is Chris Peludat, assistant athletics director for marketing and ticketing.
* Boiler Bridge Walk and pep rally: The Boiler Bridge Walk will start at 5:40 p.m. today (Sept. 14) at the fountain on the West Lafayette side of the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge. The pep rally follows at 7 p.m. at the Class of 1980 courtyard between Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center.
* The Purdue football team takes on Eastern Michigan at noon Saturday (Sept. 15). Ticket information is at www.purduesports.com.
* Before the game, Purdue Bands & Orchestras will present a Jazz Tailgate at 9 a.m. and "Thrill on the Hill" at 10 a.m. at Slayter Center.
* Boilermaker Depot: One-stop online resource for all game-week activities and spirit initiatives.
Faculty and staff news
New features of Adobe Connect 8, an introduction to the Qualtrics online survey tool and Blackboard Learn topics from working with the grading tools in Learn to Learn's variety of collaborative features will be covered in faculty workshops and demonstrations by ITaP educational technologists beginning Monday (Sept. 17).

Purdue is ranked in the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings, released Tuesday (Sept. 11).
Indiana is seeing a noticeable shift away from hot and dry weather to normal weather patterns for this time of year as frequent rain in recent weeks eases drought conditions.
Purdue's Schwartz Tennis Center will offer adult tennis classes including Drill of the Day, beginner and intermediate sessions, and a mixed doubles league. A list of the fall programs, which begin Sept. 20, is available at www.purduetennis.com.
People
Purdue's College of Liberal Arts has named three alumni as the 2012 Emerging Voice Award winners. The alumni will be honored today at a reception.
Purdue sports
Purdue baseball will open up its new Alexander Field to the public during the upcoming alumni weekend in October. The weekend will include a championship ring ceremony honoring the 2012 Big Ten title team.

The Purdue Athletic Ticket Office will begin selling mini-plan ticket packages for the 2012-13 men's basketball season on Monday (Sept. 17). Fans have two packages to choose from, each of which features tickets to five different home games for only $150.
