Purdue Profiles: Joanna Grama

Momentum Makers: Annette Benson

Annette Benson long has loved learning about the world one person at a time. As language program administrator for Housing and Food Services, she has taken a slow journey around the globe through her interactions with Purdue students from more than 80 different countries. Benson is responsible for coordinating the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program (ESOL) and advisor for UR Global, a student organization that pairs new international students with peer mentors. Black History Month concert

A special multimedia concert to salute poet Langston Hughes will take place at 7 p.m. today (Feb. 29) in Stewart Center, Fowler Hall. The presentation features Hughes' jazz poem suite, "Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods of Jazz," and pays homage to the struggles for artistic and social freedom in the 1960s. More information is here.
