A transportation engineer's quest to improve global planning
Some years ago, Kumares Sinha found himself in a remote corner of Bangladesh contemplating the challenge of building roads in areas with alluvial soils and abundant rivers prone to frequent flooding.
It was one of many remote roads that Sinha, the Edgar B. and Hedwig M. Olson Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering, has traveled in more than four decades of his professional career, a good part of which involved consulting for the World Bank and other organizations.

ITaP migrating to faster, more efficient campus Ethernet service
ITaP is migrating all users to 100 megabit (Mb) network connections to enhance performance of the campus network and accommodate network traffic in the future. Now the common connection speed, 100Mb connections are 10 times faster than original-speed Ethernet. To ease the transition, users with 10Mb lines at the time of migration will be grandfathered in at the same price for two years. Read more...
