Memorial service: Robert McDaniel

A memorial service for Robert McDaniel, professor emeritus of history, is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in the Anniversary Drawing Room, Purdue Memorial Union. McDaniel came to Purdue in 1965 and retired in May 1999. He died in September 2007. The memorial is sponsored by the Department of History.

Sept. 19. 7:30 p.m. Fowler Hall, Stewart Center. Speaker: Barbara Weinstein, professor of history at New York University and president of the American Historical Association. Title: "Academic Freedom in the Age of Homeland Security" Weinstein is a guest lecturer of the Department of History, with the support of the Office of the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

Indiana's first lady to visit Purdue to speak about heart disease

Indiana first lady Cheri Daniels will speak about heart disease prevention during an event on Monday (Sept. 24) at Purdue. More

Associated Press CEO to speak at Purdue on Sept. 27

The leader of the world's largest news agency will speak at Purdue on Sept. 27 about how the news business has changed in recent years and how other organizations can cope with similar changes. Tom Curley, president and CEO of the Associated Press, will speak at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Hall. The title of his talk is "The Upside of Change Management." More
