What is Health and Human Sciences Extension?
Education and research in the College of Health and Human Sciences extend far beyond Purdue’s campus. With offices in each of Indiana’s 92 counties, Purdue Extension partners with the College of Health and Human Sciences, local agencies, and county educators to apply research through a variety of educational programs.
We identify needs in local communities, then work closely with HHS faculty to develop programs that address them. Our eight signature areas focus on such key issues as healthy food choices, physical activity, money management, healthcare, and parenting – and our grant-funded programs in foods and nutrition reach into local homes and schools.
We also play an important role in connecting faculty to state agencies and organizations interested in partnering for research.
Every year, Purdue Extension Health and Human Sciences reaches more than 1.4 million residents with our educational programs – improving quality of life for individuals and families across Indiana.
