Engineering FYI: For Your Imagination is an Online, Virtual Event designed to increase interest in engineering among rising 7-9th grade students (completed 6-8th grade by summer of the event). This program is geared toward girls with an interest in engineering and allows you to apply your imagination and creativity as your assigned mentor virtually leads you through a hands-on project.
  • Learn about being an engineer and discover how your unique talents and interests may lead to an exciting engineering career!
  • Connect with Purdue Engineering student mentors
  • Apply your imagination and creativity as your mentor virtually leads you through a *hands-on project.
  • Hone you leadership skills as you learn how engineers shape our world.
  • Experience how engineers make a difference and how you can make a difference too!

*The hands-on engineering activity will require: 40 - Small (3x5) index cards, roll of masking tape, ruler, hard-boiled egg (or equivalent object).

Note: If you are NOT able to obtain materials, arrangements will be made to mail them to you.

On Event Date: Parents/Guardians of registered students may attend an online Information session with the Leah H. Jamieson Director of Women in Engineering and Assistant Dean for Diversity and Engagement, Dr. Beth Holloway from 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m., EDT.
