Second-year pre-pharmacy student - College of Pharmacy

Beth Neumann

What do you do at Purdue?

I am a second-year pre-pharmacy student at Purdue. I am also very involved with the band program, particularly the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band. I am a piccolo player for the orchestra in the spring and for the marching band in the fall where I am part of the leadership team. I love performing with the band and spending time with my fellow band members, who have become my family away from home.

Which woman has inspired you most? Why?

My mom has inspired me most. I am constantly amazed how she manages to accomplish everything in her life, between working as a pharmacist, caring for my three younger brothers and me, taking care of the house and dogs, volunteering at the school, and still finding time to come support me at my performances. I can always count on her.

What are your goals and experiences with mentoring or encouraging others?

I find great personal reward in the encouragement of others. It is an incredible feeling to lift others up and watch them help others in return. It is my goal to always be available to offer help and encouragement.
