Fluid Power Basics

Introduces the student to fluid power principles and components; Teaches basic circuit design through the use of symbols and schematic diagrams to build a foundation for career work in fluid power technology;


Course Objectives:

  • 1 Calculate and demonstrate the basic physics of fluid mechanics using Pascal's Law
  • 2 Describe function and construction of various fluid power components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, filters, heat exchangers, pressure regulators, and accumulators
  • 3 Identify fluid power symbols and interpret fluid power schematic diagrams
