What is your Boiler Story?

Share Your Boiler Stories!

The Division of Student Life wants to document and tell the Purdue student life story through your experiences this year at Purdue. Whether you have a story that is fun, passionate, happy, sad, raw or still on-going, we want to hear from you. Inspired by the Humans of New York social media community, we look to document the lived, human experience within the Purdue community. These stories will be published on the Instagram account @BoilerStories

Whatever your story may be – your profile, a way you adjusted quickly to meet a challenge or your story of resilience – this social media account will be a channel for storytelling that extends beyond the pandemic and documents life at Purdue.

Are you interested in sharing your story? If so, there are a couple things we need from you:

  • In your own words, tell us your story in 300 words or less.
  • Select 1-3 photos that tell a story about you, at least one of which includes you as the main focal point.

Submit your story by filling out this online form.

If you would like to be involved, but are short on time or don't know how to start, connect with us in Student Life Marketing and we can learn about your story and help you put it together. Rest assured, all stories will be approved by the authors before they are posted publicly.

Need some advice for writing your story and choosing photos?

Write your story as if you are talking to someone, please try to keep it concise and please don't use specific jargon or acronyms that the general public might not understand. Please choose photos to accompany your story that help illustrate the highlights within it. The main image of you shouldn’t be a typical selfie with a bunch of filters, etc. If you would like advice for getting a good photo of yourself, please contact Student Life Marketing.
