VOICE Chapter of the Year award acceptance

Purdue VOICE Treasurer Jesse Whitfield (center) represented the chapter as National VOICE co-presidents Kyle L. Granger, Jr., of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Valerie Marcano, of the University of Georgia, presented the Chapter of the Year Award during the SAVMA Symposium March 17.

During the 2018 SAVMA Symposium in Philadelphia, Pa., Purdue VOICE was honored as the recipient of the “Chapter of the Year” award. The all-encompassing award recognizes a VOICE Chapter that has organized or sponsored many successful events during the academic year, exceeding the programming requirements in terms of quality and quantity, and has continuously supported the development of a positive and welcoming environment within its local and academic communities.

Purdue VOICE Treasurer Jesse Whitfield, of the DVM Class of 2020, represented the Chapter as it was honored for receiving the Chapter of the Year Award.  “The Purdue VOICE Chapter’s events were varied in type and scope, incorporating educational, service, and social events into the calendar,” Jesse said. “The Chapter demonstrated a commitment to advancing an understanding of diversity and inclusivity in Veterinary Medicine within both its school and community.”
