Treating Love Bug the Horse

When Love Bug developed a cough so severe that she was unable to finish a lesson, her vet referred her to Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital for further examination. Treatment designed by Dr. Laurent Couetil resolved Love Bug's symptoms and she was able to compete in Nationals a month later.

Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine treats over 1400 horses each year, and we are proud to celebrate our impact on the health of equine athletes. A special thank you to Dr. Ann Jonkman and sixteen-year-old Hayley Jonkman -- and Love Bug -- for allowing Purdue Alumni and PUCVM to tell your story.
