Multiple Postdoctoral Positions Available

Postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Seleem’s laboratory for highly motivated candidates who are interested in antimicrobial drug discovery. Details of Dr. Seleem’s laboratory, on-going research projects, and recent publications can be found at https://www.purdue.edu/vet/discovery/seleem.

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, Pharmacy, biology, medical sciences or related field. Prior research experience in antimicrobial, bacteriology or drug discovery will be a plus. Candidates at both junior and senior levels are welcome to apply.

Fully funded PhD Student Positions on Antimicrobial Drug Discovery

PhD graduate research positions on NIH and NSF funded antimicrobial drug discovery projects at Purdue University are available with Dr. Mohamed Seleem’s group. We have focused our research program on two major areas: antimicrobial resistance and drug discovery. Highly collaborative in nature, our research integrates bacteriology, mycology, molecular pathogenesis, immunology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and animal models. A major strength of this interdisciplinary group of scientists is the complementary spectrum of expertise in basic and clinical applications. We provide an international, innovative and interdisciplinary work environment, with access to state-of-the-art labs as well as many other advanced infrastructures at Purdue University.

The assistantship provides monthly stipend and payment of tuition fees. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with strong interests in microbiology, pharmacology, infectious diseases, and drug discovery. Students with previous research experience or a Master’s degree are strongly encouraged to apply. TOEFL and GRE are required.
