Dr. Breur is a small animal orthopedic/neurosurgeon, educator and researcher in the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, and director of the Center for Comparative Translational Research and the Pre-clinical Research Laboratory


Dr. Breur's research focuses on the musculoskeletal system with a special emphasis on arthritis, biocompatibility of orthopedic implants, canine gait and gait analysis and pediatric orthopedic diseases.


Dr. Breur teaches in the DVM and the veterinary technician curriculum, as well as in graduate courses in the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.


Dr. Breur is contributing to continuing education on a national and international level. He has a strong interest in international veterinary surgery and is an adjunct professor at Madras Veterinary College in Chennai, India. He maintains a listing of canine and feline musculoskeletal diseases with a genetic etiology.
