The veterinarian's role in addressing the opioid epidemic
Health care providers who administer and prescribe controlled drugs recognize a responsibility to contribute to solutions to the crisis. Caring for our animal parents necessities, partnering with the FDA and pet owners, and heightened awareness for client and employee abuse.
According to Indiana Law, continuing education on opioid prescribing and potential abuse will be required to renew your Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) by October 15, 2019. All practitioners that renew their CSR will be required to complete 2 hours of continuing education addressing the topic of opioid prescribing and opioid abuse. This session will provide 1 CE credit toward the new CSR requirement.
