Jennifer Strasser, DVM

Dr. Strasser was raised in the Pacific Northwest. She earned her bachelor degree of science in biology at the University of Notre Dame and then obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Oklahoma State University in 1997. After graduating, she worked primarily as a large animal veterinarian in a mixed animal practice in Northern Indiana for two years before taking on two years of Johne’s Disease research in a Mycobacteria lab at her alma mater, the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Strasser joined the Indiana State Board of Animal Health in 2003 as the Meat Source Safety Veterinarian. She became the District 1 Field Veterinarian in 2005, and has also been the Aquaculture Specialist since 2008, when that position was created to address the issue of Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia and other aquatic infectious diseases of regulatory importance.
