May 4, 2009 Purdue Agriculture columns now offered as podcastsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two news and informational columns written by Purdue University Agriculture specialists are now available as podcasts.Podcasts of "On Six Legs" by entomologist Tom Turpin and "Capital Comments" by agricultural economist Larry DeBoer can be downloaded at https://www.ag.purdue.edu/agcomm/Pages/NewsPodcasts.aspx "On Six Legs" takes an entertaining look at the insect world, while "Capital Comments" has timely information on public policy issues related to state and local government in Indiana. "'On Six Legs' started to address insect-related issues for a non-science audience, such as insects in literature, music and pop culture," Turpin said. "I also include pest information when it will be useful, but I always try say more than just 'Here is how to kill insects.'" A third column podcast is being developed. "Purdue Yard and Garden News" will be the podcast of consumer horticulturist Rosie Lerner's "In The Grow" column. Lerner's column covers a variety of gardening topics in a question-and-answer format.
