Purdue's 'Compliment Guys' visit StatehouseWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - In an attempt to create a lighthearted atmosphere during an intense period of the legislative session, Purdue University's Brett Westcott and Cameron Brown, known as the Compliment Guys, visited the Indiana Statehouse on April 14.The two sophomores offered their trademark free compliments to legislators, lobbyists, media and other Hoosiers walking by. "It is refreshing for legislators to receive a compliment from somebody who doesn't want something in return," said Lt. Governor Skillman, who invited the duo to the Statehouse. Rep. Sheila Klinker (D-Lafayette) introduced Brown and Westcott on the House floor, where they received a standing ovation from legislators. The pair has received national attention for their practice of giving free compliments for two hours each week on Purdue's West Lafayette campus. They have been featured on Good Morning America and the Bob & Tom syndicated radio show, as well as in other TV, radio and print publications around the country.
