Summer camps offer computer programming fun

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Middle and junior high school students who are interested in computer programming are invited to register for the Adventures in Computer Science Summer Camps at Purdue University.

The beginner camp, which will take place June 14-17, is open to students in sixth through eighth grades. Sponsored by the Purdue Department of Computer Science,  it will focus on programming with Lego Robotics and Alice programming languages.

The advanced camp, which will take place June 17-20, is open to students in seventh through ninth grades who have previous programming experience. It will offer a more in-depth look at computer science concepts. Featured languages include Alice, Python and JavaScript. Advanced campers also will participate in a PicoCricket Design Studio challenge.

Registrations are being accepted at https://www.conf.purdue.edu/begcamp and https://www.conf.purdue.edu/advcamp. Registrations made before June 1 will be discounted.
