April 17, 2009 Purdue, Vincennes universities holding Indianapolis open house April 29INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Purdue University College of Technology at Indianapolis and Vincennes University are inviting prospective students to learn more about the facility and the degree programs offered there during an April 29 open house.The event will be from 1-5 p.m. at the Aviation Technology Center at the Indianapolis International Airport at 2175 S. Hoffman Road. Students and parents will have the opportunity to tour the facility and talk with faculty, student services staff and financial aid officials about the programs offered at the Indianapolis location. Refreshments and door prizes will be available. The facilities at the Aviation Technology Center include laboratories for advanced composites, avionics and electronics, air-traffic control, and non-destructive testing. Purdue shares the space with Vincennes University. The College of Technology at Indianapolis offers a bachelor's degree in aeronautical technology, and associate's and bachelor's degrees in aviation management. Purdue also offers the Federal Aviation Administration Collegiate Training Initiative, which trains students with an aviation technology degree to become air-traffic controllers. Vincennes University offers an applied science degree in aviation maintenance technology, an associate's degree in aviation maintenance technology, and an FAA airframe and powerplant certificate, along with other programs.
